Pirouette from Brinca Dada is one of four new "Colortoys" that allow children to explore the basics of color while developing their fine motor skills. Young toddlers will delight in placing the dowels/balls in the holes, turning the base, and watching the whirling forms turn around. Older toddlers will start to build with the hardwood squares, put "red hats on the red heads," stack colored shapes into sturdy towers, and explore how motion changes the appearance and stability of forms.
Pirouette was designed by renowned artist and early childhood education expert, Karen Hewitt of Learning Materials Workshop. Previously only available to schools and other educational institutions, Pirouette is now available to the public through a partnership with Brinca Dada.
Pirouette is an open-ended toy whose only boundaries are a child's imagination...which is to say, limitless.
Pirouette's awards include...
- Dr. Toy's Best Toy Award
- Materials: Beechwood and non-toxic, lead-free paints.
- Designer: Karen Hewitt for Learning Materials Workshop
